Volodymyr Olenych: «We are working in the conditions of equipment repair, products shipment and feedstock acceptance»

In spite of the fact that last week at «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., was started the shut down overhaul of process equipment, pipelines and other important units as well as systems of industrial process, the teams of some divisions are involved not only in this work. Sure at present it has priority, but it is not the sole one. However, the workers of these subdivisions that are directly engaged in the output of final products should secure its sale to the consumers. Actually, it also refers to the team of chlorine and caustic soda production via membrane method.

– Currently we work in the conditions of equipment repair, products shipment and feedstock acceptance, – tells a chief of this unit Volodymyr Olenych. – And namely, recently to the storehouse of raw materials and final products were  taken two containers of calcium chloride. It means that income of feedstock to us has not been stopped even during overhaul.

We do not receive at the time being the common salt from State Enterprise «Artemsil», because at the division of salt unloading by bulk and brine preparation is being made the purification, revision and repair of conveyer systems. Here the main repair-renovation activities are performed by the workers of process equipment repair of PVC-S and Caustic soda and by Department of maintenance of our Company, and cleaning and painting of equipment fulfill two teams, formed from our process staff.

What concerns the final caustic soda, we ship it every day. This product, like previously, is sent to the consumers vie automobile and railway transport.

Are some outside companies involved in repair activities at your unitу?

– We have involved four brigades of specialists from «REMMASHRESURS» Ltd. This Company from Kharkiv participates in the overhaul at «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» for the first time. They mainly perform the jobs, connected with revisions of wet hydrogen and chlorine filters and dry chlorine in the cell hall, drying and compression of chlorine as well as in substitution of filter elements. After opening and inspection no contaminations and damages have been found at filters of wet chlorine. But some other filters were a bit dirty. The technical staff under the supervision of a chief foreman of electrolyzes, drying and compression division Mykhaylo Maslanyi has practically finished the cleaning of those filters. Only chlorine pipeline is left to be cleaned by our workers.

Substitution of filter elements at the filter of wet hydrogen is also completed. We are close for completion of other activities referring to the substitution of filter elements at other filters in this division.

The specialists of Company«REMMASHRESURS» and Maintenance department of «KARPATNAFTOCHIM» Ltd., also make repair of vessels, reactors, heat-exchanging and other equipment. They are also involved in other additional works, which have not been planned before, but urgent demand to perform them appeared only after opening and inspection of all equipment.

Besides of these Companies, in the repair of hydrogen and chlorine compressors with substitution of bearings, are involved the specialists of Company «TECHNOLOG» from Sumy.

And what part from the total amount of activities have been at present made by repair and process staff of the division ?

– If to speak in percentage, its approximately 70-80%. I hope that on November, 9 we’ll manage to complete the last repair works, and brine system will circulate, and on this day or at the next one we’ll start to dry chlorine system and prepare the unit for start-up.
